Random thought on friends
I realise I behave differently towards different people. It’s perhaps influenced in part by the chemistry between me and him/her. Of course there could be other miscellaneous factors that influence how you treat different people, but I feel that when you say you click well with someone, it should mean that you bring out the best in each other. Some people bring out the best in me, and I would much prefer to have such people around me, whether as friends or whatever.

My accommodation this year
I’m staying in Isca Lofts this year, and I think it’s a really good place! Only gripe is that the cupboard is small and that I could do with more drawers. Anyways I’ll let the pictures do the talking

Now this feels like uni
Just had a good ISC meeting yesterday night. Seems like a fair bit of work is set ahead of us, but good to see everyone so energetic and enthusiastic. I think this year is going to be even better than the last one for the ISC!
Anyways, gotta start registering and stuff today, have yet to step onto campus yet haha. And then for parts of the rest of the coming week I’ll have to be at the ISC booth introducing ourselves and interacting with people. Also have to attend some events to do that, the barn dance(!) being one of them omgosh. Well, it’s gonna be a busy week I think!

Aftershocks (Tang Shan Da Di Zhen)
Just watched this; It’s a good movie. A touching one that explores not only the immediate damages of natural disasters to life and infrastructure, but also the long-lasting effects on those who survive. How it breaks up families and changes people’s lives. But also how people stand together united in the face of adversity, giving kindness without expecting anything in return. Life is full of difficult decisions that sometimes mean failing one person you love to protect others that you may not know. It takes someone truly strong and selfless to see the big picture.
Although I can’t say I enjoyed listening to the accent in the movie very much, the plot was refreshing and a change from the typical big-budget CGI-screaming disaster movies nowadays. This is how I like my movies: unadorned, touching and thought-provoking.
Leaving on 23rd Sep night
It’s time for school again! In 2 weeks time. To do what a man’s (or student’s) gotta do. Why does it always feel weird when faced with changes. How great if life were all about fun and games. Kinda looking forward to each and everyday though, never knowing what the future holds. Exciting. But what happens when you no longer have anything to look forward to? Kinda scary. Life is just weird and complex, rationalizing it is an impossible task. You just gotta do the best you can in what you believe in, and try not to leave yourself with any chance of regret.
